Theory Master Class – Spring 2025
The spring master class entitled “Books___Architecture,” led by Reto Geiser, explored the history of the architecture book and its role as a messenger of architectural theories and ideas. Participants analyzed a seminal architectural series, considering its historical background, conceptual and editorial framework, design, and materiality. They documented their research in a textual and diagrammatic dossier and created a wordless book offering a new perspective on the material. Building on these insights, the second phase focused on constructing a small architectural publication, developing critical and editorial skills alongside the craft of bookmaking. The two-week-long program concluded with a public event and exhibition on Friday, May 16.
